Indications

This tablet is indicated in

  • The management of moderate to severe pain in adults.
  • Short-term management of acute pain (five days or less).

Pharmacology

Paracetamol has analgesic and antipyretic properties with low anti-inflammatory activity. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is believed to have a major effect on the CNS, increasing the pain threshold by inhibiting the two isoforms of the cyclooxygenase enzymes, COX1, COX2 and COX3 involved in the synthesis of prostaglandins (PG). Paracetamol is a para-aminophenol derivative, with analgesic and antipyretic properties with low anti-inflammatory activity. Paracetamol is one of the most widely used, safest, and fastest pain relievers. It is well tolerated and free from the various side effects of aspirin.

Tramadol is a centrally acting synthetic opioid analgesic. Although its mode of action is not fully understood, based on animal studies, at least two additional mechanisms may be applicable: maternal binding and metabolite of M1 to receptors in opioid bodies and weak reuptake inhibitors. noradrenaline and serotonin. Opioid activity is due to both the low affinity parent compound and the higher affinity binding of the odemethylated M1 metabolite to opioid receptors. Tramadol has been shown to inhibit the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin in vitro, as have several other opioid pain relievers.
